Glossary definition of 'Disc Description Protocol'

(DDP) An industry standard protocol (ANSI) for describing all the files and parameters necessary for accurately replicating CDs or DVDs. As well as files that contain the contents of the disc, it includes additional files that describe the structure, subcode, table of contents, indexing etc. required to create a complete disc, making it possible for a mastering house to send a complete disc definition to a pressing plant as a single file. DDP is a registered trademark of DCA Inc.
