Ian joins the company from National Instruments, where he achieved spectacular business growth over the past five years as Managing Director - UK and Ireland.  His specialist background is in Sales & Marketing, having enjoyed previous success as an Area Sales manager, rising to become UK Sales Manager in 1997.

Following four years’ technical training and education at the UK Atomic Weapons Research Establishment, Ian followed a developing career in Engineering and Sales with scientific instrument manufacturers.   He joined National Instruments in 1989 and, with a small start-up team, pioneered the growth of its highly successful computer-based LabVIEW test product range in the UK market.

Commenting on his appointment, Prism Sound’s chairman Martin Jones says: “I’m absolutely delighted that Ian has joined us as CEO. His in-depth experience in Sales & Marketing complements the outstanding technical performance of Prism Sound professional audio products, whilst his highly successful track record of leading business growth in computer-based test & measurement systems will further accelerate the fast-growing sales success of our dScope and DSA-1 audio test systems.  Most of all, his passion for enthusiastically empowering people will build on the ‘can-do’ culture already established in Prism Sound and lead us into our next exciting phase of growth.”

Graham Boswell, Prism Sound founder and marketing director, adds: “Ian’s appointment reflects the transition of Prism Sound from a small cottage industry to a major player in the worlds of pro audio, broadcast and test and measurement. New sales personnel have already been recruited as part of our expansion programme and the company is now gearing up its operations to reflect new investment opportunities.”

Ian Crighton says that his main priority for Prism Sound will be to develop opportunities for growth and deliver even greater success to customers.

“I am very excited about joining the extremely talented Prism Sound team,” he says. “The quality and performance of the products that Prism Sound produces are exceptional. With the core value centred around digital audio measurement, I can see a whole world of new opportunities for growth and success. Our main priority, moving forward will be to deliver even greater success to our customers, whether this be in the music recording, test and measurement or security recording domains. I bring with me to Prism Sound a wealth of understanding on what it takes to make a company great, and will work very closely with all of our employees to continue the passion, drive and vision that will ensure the long term success of the company, it's customers and employees."
