INTERCOM chooses Prism Sound for its new audio facility in Zagreb, CroatiaZagreb, Croatia - March 2007 Prism Sound's recently appointed distributor INTERCOM is putting the finishing touches to its brand new audio facility in Zagreb, which will be officially opened at the end of April 2007.
Housed in the centre of the Croatian capital, INTERCOM's Piece Of Cake Studios will incorporate two control rooms, a critical listening room and studio offices.

INTERCOM's managing director Damir Begovic says: "The primary purpose of Piece Of Cake Studios is to serve as a regional demonstration facility for the pro audio equipment brands that INTERCOM distributes in South-East Europe. We believe that hearing is believing and with fantastic pro audio brands on our roster it made sense to have a properly equipped facility where prospective clients could literally get their hands on this equipment and try it for themselves."
Piece Of Cake Studios will also be available for commercial projects, with the focus on multi-format mixing and mastering of audio-for-video music programmes.
Prism Sound's award-winning ADA-8XR converters are included in the facility's equipment list. Two ADA-8XRs with AES and Pro Tools HD I/Os and one ADA-8XR configured as 16-channel D/A for Pro Tools HD provide 16 A/D and 32 D/A converters in total.
"These three units are the studio's only interface between the analogue world of Studer A80 and SSL AWS900 and the digital world of Pro Tools HD," explains Begovic. "We have great respect for Prism Sound. By insisting that these are the only converters used in our studios, we will ensure that the most delicate sonics and dynamics are preserved throughout the numerous A/D and D/A transfers between the two worlds."
Begovic adds that Prism Sound's Maselec MEA-2 stereo EQ is also part of the new facility's arsenal. "We simply could not imagine doing any delicate mastering without it," he says.
Founded in 2000, INTERCOM focuses on the electronic media & film industries and handles a range of carefully selected high-end Pro Audio brands including Prism Sound, DPA. M&K and SSL.
The company, which has its offices in Zagreb, distributes to the countries of South-East Europe, namely: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria and Romania. As well as distributing pro audio equipment, INTERCOM also acts as a resource for production and post production services for advertising agencies and individual brand clients.
