Simon Woollard
Apps Engineer, Prism Sound
After graduating from the University of Salford, UK, Simon began his career as a
design engineer developing passive and active loudspeakers for the Hi-Fi and consumer
audio industries. Simon has designed products for brands including NXT and Mission.
Two years after purchasing a dScope to help with his design work, Simon decided that
he enjoyed test and measurement so much, he joined Prism Sound as a front-line
Applications Engineer. Simon now works directly with
customers to help solve their test and measurement
needs.

Howard Farrar
Senior
Apps Engineer, CSR
Howard graduated from the University
of Warwick in 1991 with a degree in
Computer Systems Engineering. Since
then, he's worked in the audio
industry for the last 20 years as a
DSP engineer working for companies
like Bowers & Wilkins, Midas/Klark
Teknik and Meridian Audio. Howard
has been working at CSR for 12
months as a Senior Apps Engineer
specialising on the Kalimba DSP
inside CSR's Audio and Consumer
Bluetooth chips. |

Attend a free webinar introducing the principles of
analysing the various audio sub-systems of Bluetooth devices. Demonstrations
of measurements will be made using Cambridge Silicon Radio
(CSR) Bluetooth development boards, apt-X codecs and Prism Sound's
dScope Series III
audio analysis platform.
The dScope Series III is the world's ONLY complete audio
test system for Bluetooth audio devices. dScope Series III
caters for testing of the many sub-components of Bluetooth
headsets, headphones and loudspeakers. We will cover:
- Testing the Bluetooth radio link, checking for audio drop-outs
- Serial digital audio interfaces and converters (DACs, ADCs)
- CODECs - SBC and apt-X
- Signal processing
- Power amplifiers
- Electroacoustic components; headphones, loudspeakers & microphones
We will run 2 sessions starting at 14:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT
lasting 40mins each with an opportunity to ask questions.
