dScope Series III
provides a fully automated solution for testing audio performance of
DVD players and other devices compatible with Dolby Digital.
Both Dolby Digital 2-channel and 5.1-channel devices can be
tested quickly and easily to the Dolby specification. More details are
explained in this
press
release approved by Dolby Laboratories.
Unlike Dolby test solutions using other test and measurement products,
these tests are included free-of-charge with the dScope software.
Because these tests are implemented using the dScope’s
built-in scripting language, they are fully customizable to the
end-user’s requirements. Each test in the suite can be
performed individually, or as a complete test suite, and the results
written to a document. For faster testing, the scripts can be
customized to use a DVD remote control, giving the ability to perform
all the tests at the click of a button.
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel tests can be run with our
dS-NET I/O Switcher
if required, reducing the test time and avoiding the need for plugging
and unplugging cables when repeating tests for the different channels.
Note that the Dolby Digital Test DVD Version 1.0 or 1.5 is
required in conjunction with the dScope’s scripts to meet the
requirements for Dolby Digital testing.
