Announcing
Wednesday
Webinars
Product developers and engineers working in the electronics,
automotive and broadcast industries now have the opportunity
to tune in to a series of FREE webinars. The
Webinar Wednesday series kicks off on June 24th
with Mobile Music, a webinar presented by Prism Sound’s Dan
Foley on measuring the acoustic and electronic performance
of portable music players. Attendees will learn how to
make accurate, reliable and repeatable measurement of
headphones, earphones and portable music players. These
measurements are vital in ensuring that customers are
protected from excessive loudness but still enjoy
high-quality sound. To find out more and
to register for these webinars click

All registrants will be entered into a prize draw to win a
brand new pair of Shure SE420 Sound Isolating Earphones worth $399 so be sure to register
here for your chance to win. |
dScope Series III helps Soundcraft speed up production
line testing
Prism Sound's dScope Series III digital audio analyser has long been a favourite test and measurement product
for recording, live sound and broadcast console manufacturers who want to ensure the audio fidelity of their products.
One console manufacturer that has long been an advocate
of dScope Series III is Soundcraft, which has been using
the unit in its R&D department for a number of years.

Prism Sound launches a new lower-cost analogue version
of its dScope Series III Audio Analyzer
As part of its ongoing commitment to offering customers the
best possible value, Prism Sound is launching a new
lower-cost version of its ground-breaking dScope Series III
audio analyzer so that research and development engineers
and production line managers can order a unit that precisely
matches their analysis requirements. dScope Series III is available to order as an analogue-only variant, making it ideally suited to those engineers
who are currently only concerned with audio analysis in the analogue domain.

Acoustic Testing with the dScope Series III Audio Analyzer
The requirements for acoustic testing are quite unique within the field of audio analysis, and
testing requires particular care to ensure good rejection of unwanted reflections (echoes and reverberation)
and background noise. This is particularly true in a manufacturing environment where acoustic noise levels
are generally quite high, space is at a premium, and measurement speeds usually need to be kept to a minimum.
The requirement to minimise measurement times implies short signal durations, and therefore signal to noise
ratio needs careful consideration.
